Practical Information

Venue

The conference will take place at the Jussieu Campus of Sorbonne Université, in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. Plenary talks will take place in amphitheatre 25, located at "rotonde 25" on the campus map.

The campus is located in the Latin Quarter, within walking distance of the Seine, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and many restaurants and cafés.

Transportation

The Jussieu campus is easily accessible by public transportation. The nearest station is Jussieu (metro lines 7 and 10), located directly at the campus entrance. Detailed information about coming to the Jussieu campus can be found on the transport info page.

Accommodation

Below is a list of hotels, ordered by distance from the campus entrance (with approximate walking distances according to Google Maps).

The list is far from exhaustive; more links can be found at the Paris tourist office website, and participants are of course encouraged to explore other accommodation options using their preferred booking platforms.

Airports & Train Stations

  • Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG): RER B to Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame, then metro line 10 to Jussieu (about 1 hour).

  • Orly Airport (ORY): Metro line 14 to Maison Blanche, then line 7 to Jussieu (about 30 minutes).

  • Gare du Nord / Gare de l’Est: Metro line 7 to Jussieu (about 25 minutes).

  • Gare de Lyon: Metro line 14 to Châtelet, then line 7 to Jussieu; bus line 63; or about 30 minutes on foot.


Visa

Participants who require a visa to enter France are advised to consult the official French visa website for information on requirements and procedures: https://france-visas.gouv.fr/.

For many countries a visa waiver is still possible without an equivalent of ESTA. See e.g. here for general information (including links to downloading an app to speed up your entry) and here for information about the future ETIAS system, currently scheduled for the end of 2026. We advise all participants coming from outside the EU to carefully check their entry requirements, all information provided here is advisory only.
